Dolphin & Whale Watching Cruise.
Spinner dolphins at dusk.
About this experience
The deep channels surrounding Baa Atoll are a natural corridor for dolphins and whales. Cruises depart from Dharavandhoo harbour, minutes from Dimora Blu, and offer some of the most reliable sightings in the Maldives.
Spinner dolphins travel in pods of fifty or more and are the most frequently encountered — often riding the bow wave of the dhoni, leaping and twisting above the water. Bottlenose dolphins and, occasionally, short-finned pilot whales are also spotted year-round.
Cruises depart from Dharavandhoo harbour in the late afternoon to coincide with the dolphins' feeding rhythm. Fresh fruit and cold drinks are served on board, and the return at sunset is worth the trip alone.
